Frequently asked questions
Everything you need to know about Anchorify
Do you store my files?
No. By default, we only receive and store your hash, never the original file. Your data stays with you. Enterprise customers can optionally enable encrypted proof archiving for an additional fee.
What hash algorithms are supported?
Anchorify supports SHA-256, SHA-384, and SHA-512, all part of the SHA-2 cryptographic hash family. Each produces a unique fingerprint of your data (256, 384, or 512 bits). Even a tiny change to the input produces a completely different hash, allowing you to prove data integrity without revealing the original content. SHA-256 is available on all plans; SHA-384 and SHA-512 are available on Pro and Enterprise plans.
Is the proof legally valid?
Blockchain-anchored proofs provide strong evidence of data integrity and existence at a point in time. For enhanced legal standing in the EU, Enterprise plans offer eIDAS-qualified timestamps from accredited Trust Service Providers. Consult legal counsel for specific jurisdictional requirements.
Why anchor on multiple blockchains?
Multi-blockchain anchoring (Pro and Enterprise plans) provides redundancy and long-term proof resilience. If one blockchain becomes less accessible or trusted over time, your proof remains verifiable on others. It also demonstrates neutrality by not depending on a single network.
What happens if external providers are down?
Our SLA covers API availability but excludes third-party services (blockchains, TSA providers). We implement automatic retries and queue management. Proofs are eventually anchored once services recover. Status is transparently reported via the API.
Can I anchorify events instead of files?
Absolutely. Hash any structured data: JSON events, log entries, database records, or any text. Common uses include audit logs ('user X accepted terms at time T') and configuration changes.
How does pricing work?
Each plan includes a monthly quota of notarizations. Overages are billed per additional notarization at the rate shown. Enterprise plans also include qualified timestamps with separate overage pricing. Proof archiving (Enterprise) is billed per GB stored per month.
